Travel, Tourism and Hospitality
Travel, tourism and hospitality are three of the world’s major industries – locally, nationally and globally. Our programs equip students with the practical skills and the knowledge to successfully gain employment in the career of their choice. Basic skills and every day operations are learnt through to the supervisory and management levels in accommodation, food and beverage services, cookery or catering and club gaming sectors.
Students gain their practical skills working in kitchens fully equipped to modern industry standards at Wagga Wagga and Albury. Both sites also have high standard licensed training restaurants (the 'On Course' Restaurant in Wagga Wagga and "Rivers" Restaurant in Albury) with seating for up to 150 people. These are open to public bookings and students work in the restaurants in the various job-related positions.
Certifications required to work in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry are available through most of our campuses – for example, Workplace Hygiene for Food Handlers, Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Conduct of Gambling.
Specialist certification courses are available on request and can be delivered according to needs - in the workplace, as workshops or as a combination of both. Other courses are available as part of apprenticeships, full time or part time or by flexible delivery.
