The following qualifications from the Racing Industry Training Package (RGR02) and the Rural Production Training Package (RTE03) are available for study through the Agriculture Department at Primary Industries Centre

Statement of Attainment in Racing (NSW Harness Race Trainer/Driver)18363

This course is for people who wish to hold a Harness Racing NSW licence. Completion of this course usually takes 1 Semester (6 months).

There are 13 units that students must complete before HRNSW will award a B grade licence. Completion of the HRNSW requirements to hold a C grade licence are mandatory prior to commencement in this course. Once complete, students have the option of continuing study to complete Certificate IV Racing for both trainer and driver.

Students study through mail-out packages, online or by a combination of both. If sufficient numbers of students allow, classes will be delivered on a face-to-face basis.

Statement of Attainment in Horse Industry Studies (Performance Horse) 7270

This course is for people who are recreational riders and wish to know more about using and caring for their horses.

Students attend an informations session on the 1st Tuesday of each semester to determine their preferences for units to study. Units can be selected from all equine related certificate courses. Classes usually incorporate practical and theory learning in a casual and relaxed environment.

Students study through part-time attendance 1 evening each week at PIC.
