Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing (RUV40404)

This course is for people who wish to be employed as a veterinary nurse. This is a course that requires a formal application through the TAFE NSW Applications system - these applications open in August and close at the end of October each year. This course is available for people to enrol as part of a traineeship.

Units cover a range of theory and practical skills associated with the care and nursing of animals, OH&S, reception & administrative duties, and quality assurance practices.

Students must have completed Certificate II Animal Studies and have access to a veterinary clinic for workplacement to be able to commence this course.

Students study through face-to face classes 1 evening a week for 3 semesters (18 months).

Certicate II Animal Studies (RUV20104)

This course is for people who wish to be employed in the veterinary industry as an animal carer or attendant. This is a course that requires a formal application through the TAFE NSW Applications system - these applications open in August and close at the end of October each year. This course is available for people to enrol as part of a traineeship.

Units cover a range of theory and practical skills associated with the care of animals, OH&S, reception & administrative duties. Students who complete this course are eligible for advanced entry into the Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing.

Students study through face-to face classes 1 evening a week for 2 semesters (12 months).
