The Institute Advisory Council acts as a representative body to ensure that the needs of Riverina Institute's customers continue to be a high priority in the planning and delivery of courses and services.

The Institute Council guides the Institute by:

  • Providing advice and information to the Institute Director on industry and community trends and skill needs related to the provision of vocational education and training.
  • Participating in industry and community consultations on the Institute’s current and emerging strategic priorities.
  • Providing advice to the Institute Director that supports the Institute as a sustainable business.
  • Promoting TAFE to industry and its communities in consultation with the Institute Director.
  • Communicating and consulting with industry and community in collaboration with the Institute Director.
  • Providing input into the Institute’s Strategic Plan and monitoring performance.
  • Using members’ expertise to identify commercial opportunities for consideration by the Institute as part of the strategic planning process.
  • Making representations on behalf of the Institute to state and national bodies as agreed with the Institute Director.
  • Supporting the development of innovative responses by the Institute to individual enterprises and community demands.

Such functions are performed in full cooperation with the Institute Director and Institute Senior Leaders. The Council will also develop an annual work plan focusing on the performance of these strategic functions.
