Skills for Learning
Here at TAFE NSW we offer support to our students at all levels, from basic reading, writing and mathematics through to higher-level research and report writing skills. Higher level support will also assist you to develop your computer skills, help you navigate online learning platforms, improve time management skills and help you cope with the challenges of study.
Called Skills for Learning, or S4L, the focus of this initiative is to ensure all students have access to support with their studies with an emphasis on 'Skill Building' at any level. To be as effective as possible, we encourage most students to work through a skills indicator tool which will identify current skills and the areas of support needed.
S4L caters for all students thanks to its many different forms including:
- Support across Course areas to identify skill needs as a group.
- Geographical on-campus support to ensure support at a local level.
- Remote assistance for our distance learners with a link to S4L.
So to get the support you need, simply talk to your teacher first. They can then refer you to someone who can help find the support that best suits your needs.
